At last, you can edit your captions
Friday, October 19th, 2007That’s right, another new feature, this time one that people actually want! Can you tell I’m between gigs? After years of resisting, I’m finally allowing people to edit their captions, just as long as they were logged in when they made them. I think it’s pretty self explanatory, if you see the little pencil
next to your caption, click on the pencil or your caption and start editing. It’ll be prettier in modern browsers with javascript on, but should work for all.
I’ve sort of thrown my hands up in there and said “whatever” on the grand editorial issues here, so keep in mind that if you’ve got the fancier version of auto-refresh running (the one where the gallery keeps growing), you won’t see edits until you refresh it yourself (thereby losing the older captions), and that a caption can change after you’ve favorited it (though I don’t expect substantial changes will occur after a captions been read and voted for very often).
I’m also wondering if there’d be any interest from gallery keepers in the ability to view just the captions you’ve voted on in a scaled back view minus all the widgets for voting and the like. Actually, is anybody other than Zee doing regular updates with IS caps anymore?
