Fresh pictures are up at Wasting Precious Time. Our first set features the terrifying and fey Vincent Price and Franca Bettoia in 1964′s The Last Man on Earth. Vince is the Ur-Omega Man and she’s some sort of zombie vampire. Can they share an apartment without driving each other crazy?
The other set is the usual mix of unrelated pictures.
A new round robin is starting soon – it’s a nice way to ease yourself into WPT without having to create an account or write an entire story. Go sign up, and be sure to vote for which of these sets you want to work with.
Stories can be started for either set until 6/11 [Corrected date].

As you’ve noted the “Last Man on earth” later was made into “The Omega Man” starring Charleton Heston set in the garoovy sixties/seventies. Now I’ve heard Will Smith is gonna maul that role in an upcoming remake. Sliding scale, anyone? I guess if you can have an onscreen kiss with Anthony Michael Hall without puking your lunch, you can have any role you want afterwards. (Original story was His name is Legion, by Richard Matheson, I think).

Will Smith is great… at playing Will Smith. If he starred in “I Am Legend” I would Peeeeyuke.

“I Am Legend” was definitely the title, of the Richard Matheson story, that ‘The Omega Man’ was made after.
Maybe it would make a good MST3K target after all these mellowing decades, what with Mr. POTA/TCs onstage and all those rock-star albino jerks… but come on, if there’s a full-scale world-devastating nuclear-biological war, a few odd-looking jerks are about what you’d expect in context, at minimum…
(PS: POTA does not stand for “President Of The A—s”… I think that’s “Planet Of The Apes” – excuse my sense of humor.)
And yes, fist, almost any rotten remake of almost anything is expectable these days.
